1. Soak the egg in the vinegar until the shell softens.
2. Lay the bottle on its side.
3. Squeeze the egg through the neck of the bottle. Let it slide to the bottom.
4. To remove the smell of the vinegar and to harden the shell, rinse the bottle with cold water.
PROJECT FOR PRIMARY 4 - 6

1. Make a sketch of a design on the paper.
2. Pour the paints into the muffin tin.
3. Dip the cotton buds into the paint.
4. Fill in your sketch with paint dots. Be careful not to smudge the dots with your hand.
5. Use a hair dryer to dry the dots quickly.
Cotton bud painting is ideal for greeting cards and they work well on small pieces of paper.
PROJECT FOR SECONDARY 1 - 2
Project: To Test The Buoyancy of Water
Materials:

  • Aluminium foil
  • A dishpan filled with water
  • Coins
  • 250 ml of salt
  • A large spoon
  • 250 ml of sand or cornstarch
  • A notebook
  • A pen
1. Make several boats out of the aluminium foil. Give a name to each boat.
2. Put the boats in the dishpan. To know which boat floats best, add coins until the boat sinks. Take note of how many coins each boat can hold before it sinks in plain water.
3. Take the boats out of the water and remove the coins.
4. Pour the salt into the water in the dishpan. Stir until the salt dissolves.
5. Again, note down how many coins each boat can hold before it sinks in salt water.
6. Lift the boats out of the water and remove the coins.
7. Add sand or cornstarch to the water in the dishpan and stir.
8. Once again, take note of how many coins each boat can carry before it sinks in the salt water with sand or cornstarch.
Now you can know which kind of water has more buoyancy.
